The second day starts with a bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We will be taking a luxury tourist bus for more comfortable ride compared to a local bus. Normally, 7 hours of ride will take us to the Pokhara city. After reaching Pokhara, we will be catching a Jeep to Ghandruk, which is roughly 3 hours. Ghandruk is a popular Gurung village as it offers stunning view of mountain ranges of Annapurna and Fishtail with very less effort to travel from Pokhara. The Gurung Museum is another highlights where you can glam yourself up with traditional Gurung attire, take photographs and see antiques of the Gurung culture and tradition.
Our real trek starts from Ghandruk after witnessing the sunrise over the mountains while having a breakfast. Chhomrong is another beautiful and scenic Gurung village. We will be walking through alder, oak and rhododendron forests crossing Kimrung River, looking the terraced paddy fields along the way.
Next morning, we will start our trekking journey towards Dovan via Sinuwa village. The trails are full of green vegetation like rhododendron, bamboo and cedar trees. You will also witness cascading streams and crossing the river several times on a tiny wooden bridge.
This will be a shorter trek day as we reach at the altitude of 3,000m above sea level. It will be slightly steep walk in the forests with mesmerising waterfalls running through the giant hills merging in the river.
Now, we will be trekking above 3,000m in a slow and steady pace to avoid altitude sickness. Most of the trail in this section is steep and adventurous. By reaching MBC, we will have a close encounter to Mt. Fishtail and then we will be heading towards our final destination, ABC. The base camp is an amphitheatre to witness the magical charm of the mountains in the surroundings with absolutely stunning sunset and sunrise views.
Following an epic sunrise in the base camp, we will be heading down towards Dovan after having breakfast. Dovan lies in between Himalaya, and Bamboo with decent teahouses.
After descending few hours from Dovan, we will stop at Sinuwa for lunch and head towards Jhinu danda via Chhomrong village. The hot spring in Jhinu is a perfect place to soothe your tired body after a week- long trek.
We will be heading towards Pokhara by catching either a shared jeep or local bus. It will take around 3 to 3.5 hours ride to reach Pokhara city. After reaching Pokhara, guests can go for sightseeing as per their choices of refreshment. There are plenty of things to do while you are in Pokhara from boating in Phewa lake to paragliding or even try cable cars or rejuvenate by relaxing massage or even try out some cool restaurants and bars in the evening in lakeside area.
