Kathmandu, the Capital City of Nepal is also called the city of temples. It has a glorious history going back 2000 years, and a refined culture that ranks among the highest in Asia with a great number of Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas and abundance of ancient monuments in different places around the valley. Often called an open museum of medieval arts and architecture, it has a lot to offer for its visitors. Kathmandu, along with neighbouring towns of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, consisting of seven UNESCO declared world heritage sites that are a must to explore when you are in Kathmandu.
The tour basically includes a walk through the old alleys of the town to see the lively traditional market, well-crafted ancient monuments such as Durbar squares, Hindu temples, Buddhist shrines and monasteries and even gets to explore traditional Nepali settlement. Kathmandu is a valley with lovely green hills all around and the Himalayan peaks standing tall towards the North.
The tour also includes an overnight stay in Nagarkot, a famed hill station where you will see a wide vista of mountains ranges. Again, you will also gain invaluable insights into multiple diverse ethnic groups, which make Nepal their home. This includes gaining knowledge of their lifestyles, social structure, behaviour, traditions, and religious beliefs. The tour is led by our experienced guides to share their insights and knowledge of the local people and culture.
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Be prepared to have a bit of cultural shock when you are in Nepal. There will be so many things you would be seeing or experiencing for the first time in your life. Kathmandu city has lot’s of organised chaos to be encounter with. For instance, a noisy traffic jam full of motorcycles than the cars, stray dogs probably every corner of Kathmandu etc. Nevertheless, you will be treated kindly by the locals wherever you visit. We have a culture of treating guests like gods.
Welcome to Nepal!
We are happy to greet you at the airport and take you to the hotel for your convenience on a very first day of your visit in Nepal. You will be staying at one of the best boutique hotel in Kathmandu in Thamel area, which is a hub for the tourists. We will have a short tour around Thamel area if you don’t have a jet lag or have spare time to stroll for a day. Also a quick visit to the local market of Ason, Indrachowk will be fun to see lots of street food vendors selling local food and vegetables and other daily needs in an organized chaos.
After an early breakfast, we proceeds for city tour of Kathmandu visiting the UNESCO listed world heritage sites such as; Pashupatinath temple, Boudha stupa and then head towards Swoyambunath (monkey temple). This will take us several hours of a day trip around 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Later on the evening, we will further continue our day tour towards Kathmandu Durbar Square also known as Basantapur and enjoy the evening ambience observing some historical monuments. We conclude our day trip with a dinner celebration on a nice rooftop restaurant in Basantapur looking the golden-hour and a blue-hour
After having a breakfast on the hotel, we visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Nyatpola temple of Bhaktapur at first and then a quick visit to a pottery square where you will see clay made poetry arts and even envolve in a short pottery making session. After lunch, we will head towards Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur and have a heritage walk there until evening. We will have a farewell dinner at Patan Durbar Square trying some authentic and local Newari cuisine to call it our Kathmandu valley tour.
We can even customise the number of days of tour according to the preference of our guest with a timeframe between 3 to 7 days for a proper city tour in and around Kathmandu. We have a special package of city tour combined with an ethnic food tour.
