Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking Route is one of the classic and popular trekking in Annapurna region and probably the best spot to witness sunrise over the wide vista of the Himalayas. Ghorepani Poon hill trekking route offers superb Himalayan views including the Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Fishtail/Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Annapurna south, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Hiunchuli, Tukuche peak etc. This trekking route is one of the easier trekking trails in Annapurna region, which can be done with in a week. In recent, Ghorepani poon hill trekking trail has become a very popular and busy place for trekking for both domestic and international visitors.
Ghorepani Poon hill trekking route offers some of the most dramatic panoramic views of the highest and most beautiful mountain ranges in the world. The trail passes through pine and rhododendron forest, few fresh water creeks along the way. You will be walking through eye-catching villages of the Gurkha soldiers while heading towards Ghorepani (2,850m). The following morning would be an early wakeup and hike uphill to catch a sunrise at Poon Hill (3,210m). It will be around 45 minutes hike to a viewpoint. Poon hill is a vantage point to view the Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and the Annapurna massif. Ghorepani Poon hill trekking makes a small circuit and visits Tadapani (2,050 m), Ghandruk Gurung village and at Pokhara for sightseeing followed by a flight or by tourist bus ride back to Kathmandu the next day.
3 Hours Before Flight Time

Welcome to Nepal. Our team is happy and excited to greet you at the airport on your arrival. Our guide will pick you from airport on a private car and transfer you to the hotel you will be staying for couple of days in Kathmandu. The hotel is in Thamel, which is a hub for tourists and a happening place.
The second day will be a sightseeing around the popular World Heritage listed sites in Kathmandu. We have several options to visit such as Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhu (monkey temple), Boudha stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square to name a few. Guests can choose any 2 of the locations to visit as a day tour. We will also arrange your trekking permits for Langtang trek on this day. Likewise, the professional guide will give all the information on trekking gears and essentials along with short briefing of the trek. Explore Hub Nepal will organise a welcome dinner for our guests.
Early morning after having a breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we will catch a tourist bus to Pokhara. Our journey will roughly takes from 7 hours to 8 hours to reach Pokhara city. Pokhara is a beautiful city with nice lakes and view of mountains. The lakeside in Pokhara is a famous places to hangout for all travelers. We will stroll around the lakeside with a lovely dinner looking the beautiful vibes at the Fewa lake. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pokhara.
After having a breakfast, we will either catch a local bus from Pokhara to Nayapul or a shared Jeep straight to Ulleri. We slowly ascend up the hills passing other small Gurung villages like Birethanti, Hile and then towards Ulleri. Overnight stay at the teahouse.
After breakfast at Ulleri, we will be heading up towards Banthati, which has few teahouses. After Banthati, we will be walking into the huge rhododendron forest overlooking the cascading river by the side of a trail. During March and April, these forests are in full bloom with rhododendron flowers in various colours such as red, pink and white. We reach Ghorepani in the afternoon and we take a rest and have a little stroll in the evening to see the mountain range.
We set our alarm to wake up early morning at 4:30 am to catch a sunrise at Poonhill. We will be hiking around 45 minutes to one hour towards the hills full of rhododendron and pine trees. Poonhill is one of the most popular spots in Nepal for watching sunrise. This is a spiritual place that provides majestic scenery, especially when the rising sun casts golden light on the nearby snow-covered peaks like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, and Fishtail to name a few. After witnessing sunrise at the Himalays taking photographs, we head back to our hotel for a breakfast and then walk towards Tadapani for an overnight stay.
We will start walking downhill towards Ghandruk from Tadapani crossing the cascading streams several times along the trail of rhododendron forests. After 3 hours of hike, we reach to a beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk where we stop for lunch and also make our way to a Gurung museum to check local artifacts and wear cultural Gurung dress for a photo-shoot. After that, we do two hours Jeep ride towards Pokhara. Overnight stay at Pokhara.
After a weeklong trek, you might want to get a massage and relax your body at lakeside. Or you can stroll and try out food and drinks in the restaurants around lakeside. There are plenty of options to spend your day, be it paragliding, cycling, rent a bike and do cutyride, boating in Phewa lake, try cable car from Sarangkot hill, visit Begnas lake etc.
Early morning, we will be leaving Pokhara catching either a tourist bus towards Kathmandu. We arrive at Kathmandu after 7 hours of bus ride. We will have a dinner party as a celebration of finishing the trek successfully for our last day of tour bidding farewell.
